After the Llama

Giotto di Bondone became the eminent architect behind this beautiful bell tower that stands right next the Duomo of Firenze called the Santa Maria del Fiore. If the line to climb to the top of Duomo is too long and you would like another option for a panoramic view of Firenze this is an excellent choice. There is a small admission fee but the climb is not as arduous as the Duomo and provides a wonderful view. The colored marble construction blends wonderfully with the cathedrals surrounding but all the original panel work is no longer on the bell tower. In order for it to be preserved the panels can be found in the Museum of the Opera del Duomo.
